01 / OVERVIEW
Can a hot glue gun be safe for kids?
This project explores the redesign of a familiar workshop tool with a focus on making it safer and more approachable for children. The main challenge was to reduce the risk of burns and injuries while maintaining the intuitive functionality of a conventional hot glue gun. Through sketching, form exploration, and iterative development, the project focused on creating a child-friendly product that combines safety, usability, and a playful visual language.

04 / FINAL
Safe to Create.
The final concept transforms the conventional hot glue gun into a safer tool for children. Its key feature is a retractable nozzle cover that moves backward when the trigger is pressed, reducing direct access to the hot nozzle during use. The overall form was developed to feel approachable and intuitive, avoiding the intimidating appearance of traditional workshop tools. The result is a playful and functional concept that demonstrates how thoughtful product design can make potentially hazardous tools more accessible to younger users.

Let’s make something purposeful.
